Working With Me — The Phoenix Rising Way™
If you are moving through grief, trauma, anxiousness, or a difficult life transition, you may be looking for more than insight alone. You may be looking for support that helps you understand what is happening, reconnect with yourself, and begin moving forward.
That is the heart of my work.
I’m Valerie Asher, a Board Certified Consulting Hypnotist offering Therapeutic Hypnosis for grief, trauma, and anxiousness or stress. My work is informed by both professional training and lived experience. I’ve also written a book on pet grief and loss, The Phoenix Rising Way™: From Heartbreak to Legacy—Grief's Gift From Our Animals, shaped by my own lived experiences of loss, trauma, and anxiety.
Ultimately, my philosophy is perhaps best captured by the wisdom of Leon Battista Alberti:
"A human can do all things if they will."
This quote emphasises my confidence in your natural ability for positive change and growth!
Who I Support
I work with people who are ready for meaningful change—people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to move forward after loss, trauma, or any of lifes disruptions.
Your experience is personal. There is no right or wrong way to move through it. My role is to meet you where you are, hear your story, and help you find a path forward, transforming grief into peaceful wisdom.
My Approach
My work is grounded in a holistic view of well-being. Mind, body, emotion, and lived experience are connected, which is why lasting change often requires more than simply trying to manage symptoms.
When we work together, we look beneath the surface. We work with patterns, beliefs, emotional responses, and the internal stress held in the system. The goal is not just temporary relief, it's deeper change from the inside out.
I bring the tools, the support, and the structure. Your role is to show up for your own process.
Why This Work Is Personal
After leaving the military, I experienced intense anxiety during a season when I expected freedom to feel liberating. Instead, it revealed just how deeply our inner patterns can shape our lives.
Then, in 2008, I lost my job during the recession and started over. Those experiences led me to ask deeper questions about why some people move through hardship and rebuild, while others remain stuck in cycles of pain and survival.
That search eventually led me to hypnosis, deeper study, and the work I do today.
Training and Foundations
My training includes Therapeutic Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Timeline Technique, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other complementary modalities that support meaningful change. I continue to integrate what I have learned through both study and life experience into the way I support clients.
